Driver App Refresh

In this article, you will get a detailed explanation of new features and changes to the refreshed Dispatch Driver App.

Solution: To provide a better understanding of the updates to the Driver App.

Routed-based Deliveries

One of the biggest changes in the new Driver App is that Dispatch now prioritizes orders for you, instead of allowing you to prioritize for yourself. This will significantly change the experience of driving with Dispatch.

It's intended to help maximize efficiency and earnings. Unfortunately, it'll also limit the flexibility you currently have to pick up a Dispatch order, prioritize alongside other tasks, and deliver when you are able. This is intentional to allow us to be more predictable for our customers, which means we have to limit driver choice to an extent.

If you deliver orders on time, you will continue to be offered orders that are a good match for your location and other orders on your route. Accepting these offers will maximize your earnings. If flexibility in your day is a top priority, this change may mean fewer offers. You will still see orders on the Available tab– please continue to check and claim orders that you can complete on time.

Once an order is added to a Route, Dispatch shares ETA information with our customers, so it’s important to complete stops in the recommended order.

The number on the left side is what your current estimated time to your stop while the "pick up by" or "drop off by" times are when the customer will be expecting you to arrive.

You can only swipe to start a route when the first pickup on that route is ready.

Driver Expectations

When you’re offered an order, or when you’re browsing available orders, pay close attention to the pickup and drop-off times. When you take an order, you’re committing to those pick up and drop off times. Failure to meet these times will impact your driver standing.

Smart Order Matching New Look

The new Smart Order Matching pop-up will be smaller, so the accept/decline buttons aren’t taking up your entire phone screen. Read our knowledge base article to learn more about Smart Order Matching.

New Navigation Tabs

Your “Assigned” tab will now be for your Route. We’re adding a Profile tab that will display your driver statistics and earnings. Lastly, we moved the Settings gear down next to the tabs.

Profile Tab

The new Profile tab will show you driver statistics and earnings for a given time period that you select from the dropdown. You’ll also be able to request updates to your profile information and vehicle in this tab.

Other Updates

You’ll need to make sure your location settings are correct in order to start receiving orders. See the image below for instructions. You will need the most up-to-date version of the app for it to function correctly.

You’ll also need to set up your Stripe account prior to being offered any orders in the app. You won’t be able to view any orders until your direct deposit payment information is set up.

New Settings Tab

We’ve made the settings section your one-stop shop for driver resources. New to this section is the Knowledge Center and the Chat with us buttons. The Knowledge Center will bring you to our hub of driver support articles aimed at helping you understand all things driver-related.
